Justice Medina received her PHD in law Suma Cum Laude in 2000 from the University of Buenos Aires with her thesis the ¨Homosexuals and the Right to get Married.¨ Justice Medina is the current President of Federal Court of Appeal with jurisdiction in civil and commercial matters of Argentina.Justice Medina served as a member of the Commission witch wrote the current Civil and Commercial Code of Argentina Law N° 29694, and is an active member
of the National Council of the Magistracy that is responsible for selection of Judges in the Argentine Republic.
Justice Medina has been acknowledged by law 5151/14 as a distinguished person in the field of legal science by the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, and was granted the 2016 Academic Excellence Award by the University of Buenos Aires. She is also a member of various national and international institutions dedicated to the study of law: Vice President of Argentine Association of Comparative Law; Vice-president of the Ibero-American Association of Family Law.
Justice Medina has been a Family law Professor at the university of Buenos Aires for more than twenty years. She has published more than 18 books and is currently the Director of several scientific journals devoted to the study of law: a “Family Law (Derecho de Familia y de las personas” Published by “Thomson Reuters”, “Together we are more (Juntas Somos Más)” published by AMJA (Asociación Argentina de Mujeres Jueces)”, among other publications.
