The IAWJ has worked closely with its partner associations and individual members in Africa. In 2008, a new program in Tanzania funded by the UN Democracy Fund was launched, titled "Jurisprudence on the Ground (JOG)." JOG provides training for judges as well as community leaders through our partners, the Tanzania Women Judges Association (TAWJA) and the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa-Tanzania (SWAA-T). In 2008, the IAWJ provided expert assessment of continuing JEP programs in Uganda, and in 2009 facilitated a four-day Train-the-Trainers Workshop in Mombasa, Kenya under the leadership of the Kenya Women Judges Association. In 2009, the IAWJ received a three-year grant from the United Nations Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UNTF/EVAW) to implement the Justice, Jurisprudence, Access, and Accountability“ (JJAAZ) project in Zambia, in partnership with the Zambian Association of Women Judges (ZAWJ). The Africa Region has consistently hosted IAWJ regional meetings in the off/odd year between IAWJ international biennial conferences. 1901 L Street, NW, Suite 640, Washington, DC 20036 184.108.40.20655 firstname.lastname@example.org
